The ideal location for tomatoes: tips for good yields and healthy plants

The perfect location for tomatoes depends on several factors to ensure that the plants thrive and produce abundant fruit. Here are the most important points:

  1. Solar radiation
Tomatoes need a lot of sunlight, ideally at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day. A sunny location is therefore crucial.

  2. Soil condition
The soil should be well-drained and rich in nutrients. A loamy, sandy soil with a high humus content is ideal. The pH values should be slightly acidic to neutral (between 6.0 and 7.0).

  3. Air circulation
Good air circulation helps prevent diseases such as mildew. Make sure plants are not too close together and have enough space.

  4. warmth
Tomatoes love warmth and thrive best at temperatures between 18-25°C. A sheltered location that is protected from strong winds and cold is ideal.

  5. Water supply
Tomatoes require regular and consistent watering. The soil should be moist but not waterlogged. Mulching helps maintain soil moisture.

  6. Protection from heavy rain
A location that is protected from heavy rain can help reduce the risk of fungal diseases. A covered area or greenhouse can be beneficial.

Graphic "Conclusion"

A sunny, warm location with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil and good air circulation is perfect for growing tomatoes. Regular watering and protection from extreme weather conditions also contribute to optimal growth.
